Disability Insurance Broker Explains if Foreign Travel is Covered in Disability Insurance
As an experienced Disability Insurance Broker, I often get questions regarding whether or not foreign travel is covered in disability insurance. Foreign travel is covered under most disability policies as long as you come back to the United States, Canada, or its territories to receive those benefits.
However, there could be instances where a benefit is offered or a policy is offered to individuals who are on visas where they do have an exclusion for foreign travel as that might be likely to occur. Those travel exclusion riders cause anything that happens overseas to not be covered or they could be simply that it’s covered but you need to come back to obtain the benefits. It’s very important for those on visas to understand what those limitations are.
