Insurance Broker Discusses Disability Insurance and Long Term Care Needs
As an experienced certified Insurance Broker, I am often asked if disability insurance will cover long term care needs. It’s possible that disability insurance would cover your long term care needs.
However, remember that the disability insurance is meant to replace lost income when an individual is unable to work in his or her field. The disability benefits pay monthly expenses that the individual has. If that individual also suffers a long term care situation, there may be additional expenses incurred such as someone to take care of them at home or to be in some sort of facility. The disability insurance policy benefits may not be enough in that situation.
